BRIEF HISTORY
OF ORGANIZATION
In the fast altering context of techno-eco
and social realities, the vision of term
ALMA
was conceptualized in 1999 with the spirit of its Latin genesis. It connotes “all
local man’s association for education, job generation with participation of local,
by and for locals.”
Promoted individually, today
ALMA
enjoys enrichment from individuals of repute with accomplished success in their
respective spheres,
ALMA
has grown gradually from an individual
academic venture to a conglomeration of society, trust, company under statutes.
The strength lies in self sustaining without any aid, grant, and charity donation
and so on. On the contrary
ALMA
extends these all and undertakes social work in natural calamity from its own resources.
ALMA
nourishes human values and dignity
and stresses upon participative approach. It believes that all those concerned
with a decision should have a voice in its making and all those deserve and desire
should access it without any financial constraint. ALMA School Project in different
schools has benefited approximately 2 lacs students by acquiring computer literacy.
As a principle students with more than 40% disability are offered free computer
education & training and as such approximately 50,000 disabled students have
gained. It provides free computer education to orphans and destitute.
The quality, methods, approach of
Computer and IT education has earned acknowledgement and recognition of profession.
The innovative interactive approach facilitated its march of success. Today ubiquitous
presence, by mobilizing its self sustaining resources and extending services of
standards and quality or acknowledgement of its commitment to the cause. Its journey
from district to state and beyond all over, in metropolitans, urban and rural areas
with 950+ centers in terrain dominated north east, Kashmir and plains and now negotiations
for overseas centers demonstrate peoples infatuation with ALMA.
ALMA
has generated self-employments to
approximately 1400 youths at 950+ centers. More than 30,000 students trained have
also secured self-employment or jobs with the commercial establishments. The beneficiaries
cover entrepreneur, individual, industry and continue to swell. These include all
who pursued their cause with
ALMA
. All centers generate and offer employment opportunities to all individual, including
destitute, orphans or otherwise with no finance but chart their path with
ALMA
. All centers are self-sustaining profit making independent units. The corporate
office extends full co-operation i.e. managerial, technical and financial in setting
up centre.
